This movie is based on the true story about Molly Bloom, an Olympic skier, who also ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game. The story is based on the book written by Bloom herself. This is the directorial debut of Aaron Sorkin, who has already written a dozen of scripts, so that’s a guarantee for a good story. Jessica Chastain takes the lead, with Idris Elba and Kevin Costner on her side. (Official trailer)

Downsizing – 11 January

Downsizing is a method in Alexandre Payne’s movie, where people get shrunk to 5 inches, to live a wealthy life, full of pomp instead of a boring one, where the only aim is to pay off the mortgage. But the change is irreversible and permanent, so one must live with the consequences of a single decision for the rest of their lives. You will find small versions of Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz and Jason Sudeikis in this social satire. (Official trailer)

All the Money in The World – 25 January

The making of this movie is probably the most interesting one from the list: because of the sexual harassment allegations against Kevin Spacey, the director Ridley Scott decided to reshoot the movie with Christopher Plummer. It already earned him a Golden Globe nomination and the story is an interesting one, based on true events about the kidnapping of John Paul Getty’s grandson and him refusing to pay the ransom, despite being the richest person in the world. A one-of-a-kind story indeed! (Official trailer)
