What’s in your beauty bag?
They say that Swedish girls are always a step ahead when it comes to fashion and beauty trends. Well.,I completely agree with this. This month’s beauty bag star is Sara, a stunning Swedish girl directly from Stockholm. I met her a few years ago, and I have always admired her effortless chick style.
Let’s check some of her beauty secrets 🙂
VIBES: What is your morning / daily skin care routine?
SARA: Since I am always running late in the morning, it is always a challenge to put on my make up as fast as possible. But in the night I like to pamper myself with a hot shower, scrubs, masks, moisturizers and oils. Right now my favourite is Clarins “Lotus Oil“, which gives me that extra moisture I need during fall/winter and that luxury spa feeling, due to the combination of essential oils.
VIBES: Do you remember your first makeup item? When did you start wearing makeup?
SARA: I started to wear make up when I was about 10 years old. It began with me stealing my mom’s Yves Saint Laurent “Volume Effet Faux Cils” mascara and “Touche Eclat” concealer to cover up blemishes. I got my own make up shortly after that. I don’t remember what exactly, but it was probably something from Max Factor.
VIBES: Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?
SARA: It really depends on my skin. If I have pimples I won’t go out without cover them up quickly with a powder foundation, like Max Factor “Facefinity Compact“. If not, I would frame my eyes with a few coats of Cliniques “High Impact Mascara“. The small brush is perfect and works in every corner of the eye!
VIBES: Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?
SARA: I think about it, of course. Therefore, I prefer to do my own hair and skin care by mixing vegetabilic and essential oils. Also, I tend to prefer to buy products that are cruelty-free. But honestly, if I find my product I want, especially make up, I will go for it with or without certain ingredients.
VIBES: Do you have a favourite make-up blogger (or influencer)?
SARA: I have followed the Swedish blogger Isabella Löwengrip for over a decade now. She is a huge role model and she has launched her own skin care and make up. It is really inspiring to follow her journey. But for make up inspiration I watch YouTube, where one of my favorites is Brianna Fox.
VIBES: Eyeliner in Pencil, Gel, or Liquid?
SARA: I like them all with the right tools! Right now I am sold on L’OrĂ©al Paris “Superliner Superstar Black“. It is a marker which makes me want to put on eyeliner every morning. The application is so easy and fast. Looks good every time.
VIBES: Do you have a favourite brand?
SARA: Clinique is definitely my go to brand for both skin care and makeup. Their “Moisture Surge Overnight Mask” is outstanding if you want a radiant and moist skin. But I like to explore and try new things. I would definitely recommend everyone to buy a customized palette from Mac or try Paula’s Choice skin care. Those are my latest holy grails.
VIBES: Thank you Sara 🙂
