September 7 – The Beguiled

The movie plays in the time of the American Civil War and the location is a girls’ school, where the arrival of a wounded soldier stirs up the atmosphere. Sofia Coppola received the best director award at Cannes for this film and was only the second female to do so. If that would not be enough the cast is magical with Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell. (Official trailer)

September 7 – Wind River

An FBI agent and a local hunter team up to investigate a murder on a Native American reservation near Wind River, Wyoming. They say it is a land where you are on your own, there is no backup. Taylor Sheridan directed the movie, one he also wrote. Screenplays written by him, such as Sicario and High or Hell Water, tend to analyse complex situations in problematic regions and they turn out to be tense and original films. (Official trailer)

September 14 – Home Again

The title of this movie could also be: Life is complicated. Alice, the main character recently separated from her husband, moves back home with her two daughters only to find new friends and of course more complications. This a story that is truly lifelike. Except Reese Witherspoon’s unnatural beauty and aging of course. 🙂 (Official trailer)

September 21 – Victoria and Abdul

Based on the incredible true story about the elderly Queen Victoria and a young Indian clerk named Abdul Karim from India comes the wonderful story about a personal servant becoming a teacher. It is a very unlikely friendship, one that brings happiness in the longest serving monarchs life (at that time), that has grown somewhat dull. Queen Victoria is played by Academy Award winner Judi Dench. (Official trailer)

September 28 – Tulip Fever

This movie has been in the making since a long time, but has finally arrived. It is a story played in Amsterdam in the 17th century about a beautiful orphan girl bought by a rich merchant, who wants her beauty immortalized. The painter is up for the task, but the two fall deeply in love. Will they be able to escape and live happily ever after? You must see the movie to find out! (Official trailer)

September 28 – Kingsman: The Golden Circle

One of the best movies of the year 2014 finally has a continuation! As Kingsman headquarters are destroyed, the rest team up with the American spy organization, Statesman, to defeat a common enemy. With Eggsy, Merlin, Roxy (and Harry!) back behind the wheel, the movie promises fun, excitement and plenty of great acting from four Academy Award winners. ( Official trailer)
