August Vibes

Scroll down for Hungarian

I allowed myself to be fascinated by the heat dazed dance of a yellowed leaf as I was sipping my morning cup of coffee by the open window. The little leaf suddenly swept into the kitchen and proceeded to settle down next to my cup at the end of a tired but gracious little arc. I started to smile because all of a sudden I was overwhelmed by a peculiar, long forgotten feeling.Autumn Hungary

In my continuing daydream I took out my favourite knitted pullover, my rubber boots and there I was, sitting and sipping mulled wine on the terrace of a bar in Budapest. Could this be true? Could autumn be back again for real?  My unleashed thoughts raced ahead and I remembered the appropriate poem, „Autumn”[1] by Petőfi, the Hungarian poet and revolutionary from the 19th century and my lips were almost ready to recite the caption: „…autumn is back once again…” when the deeply offended rays of the August sun forced me to pull down the shades and stop. No, it is not back…yet.

I am convinced that there are many of us who are yearning for the return of autumn just like me but let’s not rush ahead because there are still lots of goodies waiting for us; this month’s edition of Vibes holds a whole treasure trove of things that you will all find very interesting.

This month, the star of our chapter titled „What’s in your beauty bag?”is Diana, who comes to us straight from the village of Káloz and she wants to reveal her beauty secrets to each and every Vibes reader. In Peter’s Pan you can read our chef’s latest recipe: African drumsticks.

It goes without saying that no month may pass without Anna’s book review, and the same is true for Enikő’s movie suggestions. In Popcorn we will give you an insight into the new movies released in August. This chapter is hosted by Enikő who also compiled a Top 10 list of the best films released so far in 2017.

Good Vibes and happy August Everyone!

[1] The poem is compulsory reading in Hungarian primary schools therefore it is familiar to practically all Hungarians of all age groups

A rovat házigazdája Enikő, ezúttal egy Top 10-es listát is összeállított Nektek a 2017-es év eddigi legjobb filmjeiből.

Mindenkinek kellemes augusztust kívánok!
